Starting a juicing diet can be a daunting task. I should know because I've tried many times and failed. But, with time and patience I learned how to spend my day on raw, fresh fruit and vegetable juices. Here are some tips for getting started a juicing diet with success.
First of all get used to drinking a variety of juices, not just fruit juices which are easiest to drink in the beginning. But fruit juice can be quite stimulating. Drinking vegetable juices has a more mellowing feeling to them. If you are going to be drinking nothing but juice, you'll need to learn to mix it up and switch from sweet to savory. It helps to add a vegetable juice as you are preparing your dinner, starting off with the liquid first to get you into the habit of thinking of juice as part of your meal before thinking of juice as your entire meal. And don't be afraid to mix at least half vegetable with fruit for wider juice variety.
Before trying to go full time juicing, start by working on having just juice all morning long. Over a period of time, add juice as your lunch. And finally move towards juicing for dinner. It takes time to get used to just juice. As you add more juice to your day, let your other meals be lighter and as raw as possible, like salads, raw lettuce roll ups and avocados. It helps to lighten all your meals as you prepare to juice to feel as light as when you are juicing. It also takes time to get used to not really eating a meal.
Juice enough juice, like a liter of juice, that you drink for your entire meal. Gradually get used to drinking this much juice. Drink the liter of juice in one meal, over a 20 or 30 minute period. It's difficult to spread the juice out over the day and not feel the twangs of hunger. Instead of drinking all day long, drink your liter of juice as a meal, at meal times. With time this will get easier. At first, you might not be able to finish that much juice. Build up to that slowly. As you diminish your food intake, it will be easier to drink this much juice. Drinking this larger quantity will feel more satisfying and enable you to go for many, many hours without anything at all, not even more juice.
Juicing can really be a fantastic way to get yourself back on track with your diet, your health and your overall well-being. Less food gives you less need to digest which means that you've got more energy to lose weight and accomplish whatever other tasks you've got going for you.
